Research Interests

As the Lead Chemist, Dr. Manning spearheads development of Ionic Fluorogels for selective PFAS remediation from natural water. Previously, Dr. Manning was a graduate student advised by Professor Frank Leibfarth, where her dissertation focused on synthesis and characterization of selective PFAS remediation materials. Beyond the bench, Dr. manning is interested in connected fundamental science, wherein synthetic chemistry can be used to impact environmental health and quality.

Fun Fact: Dr. Manning grew up in Pinehurst, NC.
